Sasha Makarov

Sasha was born in Belarus and raised in Indian Trail, North Carolina. He began playing hockey at age 12 when Extreme Ice Center was built. He continued playing youth travel hockey at Extreme for the Junior Checkers hockey club. He would then move to Raleigh at 18 to play two years in the USPHL for the Carolina Eagles, then in his final year of junior hockey he played for The Boston Junior Rangers of the EHL in Massachusetts. After his junior career, he played four years of NCAA hockey, two at University of Southern Maine, and two at Anna Maria College where he graduated with a degree in business management. Since he  finished playing competitively he has been coaching and training players in the Southeast and mainly through Extreme Ice. He works with most ages and levels of experience and focus on overall hockey skills including skating, shooting, puck handling, game knowledge and more. Sasha is  the head coach of the 12U AAA team.
